| RESUMES - Paul Adams
Paul’s marine employment began in the
early 1980’s when he became employed by
Ransome Engine Power, the Caterpillar dealer
for South Jersey at that time. While
employed at Ransome, Paul obtained various
levels of Caterpillar Engine Certification,
including that of a Marine Analyst. The
Marine Analyst Certification was obtained
after his completion of an in depth course
wherein all systems of a vessel that could
affect an engine’s performance had to be
evaluated. During Paul’s employment at
Ransome, he performed various duties
including Start Up Inspections on many new
boats built in South Jersey, Major Overhauls
and Repowers on vessels docked from New
England to Virginia, as well as various
minor engine repairs. During this
employment, Paul was also sent to various
ports in the Caribbean where he overhauled
engines in numerous tugboats and oil tankers
while shore-side. On occasion, he was even
expected to overhaul an engine on an oil
tanker while underway!
In 1989, Paul Adams and Tim Wilson
started Jersey Diesel and began servicing
the commercial fishing fleet located in
South Jersey, and in 1991, Jersey Diesel
became a Dealer for John Deere Marine Diesel
Engines. Since 1991, Paul has continued his
education and training and has attained
numerous levels of certification from both
John Deere and Cummins Diesel engines. He
also has experience in the installation and
repair of both hydraulic and electrical
systems. Simply put in his own words,
“Working on boats for the past 25 years has
allowed me to see what does and does not
work.” |
